Titus 2:3-4, "[Older women] are to teach what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children."
What is it?
Over a 12-week period, one older woman and one younger woman will be paired together. They can choose to meet up for coffee, write letters, call each other, etc. It is really up to the pair and what works best for them. You are expected to be in contact with the other person at least twice a month.
What you will need to do:
- Be available – This doesn’t mean you need to answer the phone at midnight or you HAVE to be able to go out to dinner once a week, etc. However, as long as you are able to chat with your person at least twice a month you meet this qualification.
- Be teachable – You are not expected to accept everything this person says as God’s truth. However, be willing to listen, hear them out, and come to the meetings ready to receive something. Whatever personal feelings you may have, this is a person who has been on this earth longer than you so chances are they have at least something to share with you.
- Be flexible – Things come up. We all know how difficult it can be to get schedules to match up. Be understanding and willing to make changes.
