BIBLE READING

At MBC, we seek to grow in Christ together. We encourage everyone to do personal Bible study with the Lord. This year we are doing monthly readings together. Click below or pick up your devotional at MBC to join us in Meditating on the Word!

Meditating on the Word

As a church, we plan to "meditate on the word" each month! At the beginning of each month, you can pick up a reading journal at church or come here and download the PDF version.

The journals include a reading plan (M-F) and places to reflect and write sermon notes. Each day, you will be asked to do the following:

1. Pray—Ask God to help you understand and believe what you are about to read.

2. Read and Mark—Read the assigned passage and mark what you have read.

3. Think—For example: What new thing did I learn? What puzzles me? How does this passage fit into the big story of the Bible? What does it teach about God and his plans? Is there a reason to praise God? A promise to claim? An example to follow? A sin to avoid? A command to obey? An idea for loving God or my neighbor? A prayer to pray?

4. Record and Reflect - In the place provided at the bottom of the page, write what God is teaching you or reflect on the question provided.

5. Pray—Talk to God about what you read.

6. Share—Tell a friend one thing that you learned. Or ask them one question about what you read.
